A Culture of Rape? On Every Campus?

Female Supremacists claim a "rape culture" exists on every college and university campus in the United States:
"Campus rape culture exists at every university in America." (Doyle, Alexandria (2018). The race against rape culture. Oklahoma Institute for Diversity in Journalism.)
"Campus rape culture exists throughout the nation's higher education system." (Hughes, Michael (2016). Harley party draws 3,500, raises money for Family Support Services. Amarillo Globe-News, Jul 31 2016).
"Rape culture is normalized across college campuses." (Jordan, Sky (2017). Rape culture is normalized across college campuses. The State Press, Feb 27 2017).
"Rape culture is a violent, cruel reality... Colleges and universities, collectively, are seemingly some of the worst offenders." (Flowers, Corei (2017). Rape culture and it's dominance on college campuses. Her Campus, Nov 18 2017).
Feminists claim women don't make false accusations of rape. They demand when a woman accuses a man of rape she must be believed:
"Women don't 'cry rape'." (Tanenbaum, Leora (2018). Women don't 'cry rape.' U.S. News & World Report, Jan 10 2018).
"Things women don't lie about: rape." (Dunham, Lena (2017). Post on Twitter, Aug 04 2017).
"It is a primary article of faith among many feminists that women don't lie about rape, ever." (Kaminer, Wendy (1993). Feminism's identity crisis. The Atlantic, Oct 1993).
"I believe the women." (Wing, Stephanie S. (2017). I believe the women. www.youngclergywomen.org, Dec 05 2017).
"I believe the women." (Washington, Brenda (2017). I believe the women. www.chattanoogan.com, Nov 13 2017).
"I believe women... period." (Richmond, Matt (2018). I believe Women. Period. www.educationpost.com, Mar 08 2018).

Empirical Testing

Empirically we can test the claim according to which a campus rape crisis exists at every college and university in the United States.
To test this claim you can pull and plot rape data for every college and university in the United States (N = 11,251 campuses) for the period 2008 to 2016.
[Retrieved from the U.S. Department of Education's Clery Act dataset. The following data sets were used: Non campus crime, On campus crime, and Public property crime. Rape was treated as the sum of these measures. The following data elements were used for all years: UNITID_P, INSTNM, BRANCH, FORCIB, men_total, women_total, and Total. Rape measures were renamed in 2014. Prior to then FORCIBy was used, where y is the year. For 2014 to 2016 rapeyy was used, where yy is the year.]

As shown by the gray bars, for any given year 85% to 89% of campuses have zero rape. Read that again.
**We have to factor in non-reporting.**
Empirically we know this rate is 60-64%.
In other words, about two thirds of rape is not reported.
However, even when the non-reporting rate is factored in, over half of the campuses still have zero rapes.
[Regarding non-reporting: The National Crime Victimization Survey shows the nonreporting rate is 64% (Rennison, Callie (2002). Rape and sexual assault: Reporting to police and medical attention, 1992-2000. Washington, D.C.: Bureau of Justice Statistics. See table three on p. 2). Meta-analysis of 28 studies shows the non-reporting rate to be 60.4% (Wilson, Laura C. and Katherine E. Miller (2015). Meta-analysis of the prevalence of unacknowledged rape. Trauma, Violence, & Abuse 17( 2): 149-159). Thus, the reporting rate is about 36-40%.]
Of those campuses which report one or more rapes (orange bars), the chances a female student will NOT be raped is 99.91%. When the triple non-reporting rate is factored in the adjusted rate is 99.79%.
**You also need to factor in the McDowell effect (false reporting rate is about 60%)** (I wrote about McDowell's work here: https://www.reddit.com/MGTOW/comments/im32q4/bury_the_truth_a_25_year_study_conducted_by_the/)
Eugen Kanin uses a completely different method than McDowell and concludes there's a false reporting rate of approximately 50% (Kanin, Eugene J. (1994). False rape allegations. Archives of Sexual Behavior 23( 1): 81-92), you can read it here: https://cdn.atixa.org/website-media/atixa.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/12193336/Lisak-False-Allegations-16-VAW-1318-2010.pdf).
"More than half later admitted their accusation was false. 53% were meant to create an alibi for possible pregnancy or STD's. 44% were motivated by revenge."

How exactly did we arrive at the conclusion that a "Rape Culture" exists on every university campus in the United States?

2020.09.14 10:53 berlinblades I just made it to the end of Cult, and I must say....

.... It started high, a lot of people didn't like the political satire elements, but I thought it worked great.
You could make a great, provocative show that everyone would be talking about from this one idea alone.
Ally mentioning that being retweeted by Lena Dunham was a big moment for her really made me laugh.
But later having Lena Dunham join the cast really undermined that as a satire.
I also enjoyed her as Valerie Solanis, and the zodiac twist was wild.
But as it accelerated to the finish, the pile up of betrayals and double crosses made it seem more like a late 90s episode of Jerry Springer than any kind of statement on the late 20-teens.
It ended up feeling like a missed opportunity with too many divergent ideas that would make great shows in their own right.
By the Finale I kind of stopped caring what would happen, which is a shame.
This was the first season I watched, and I am going to watch 1984 next, which will decide if I stay with the rest or not.

2020.09.05 01:36 OisforOwesome Dirty Diana - Podcasting's Own Red Shoe Diaries (Review)

Diana is an intensely, thoroughly frustrating character, and that's OK.
Trapped in a job that undervalues her, married to a man she no longer feels attracted to, Diana (Demi Moore) finds fulfillment in her side hustle: making audio recordings of women retelling their sexual fantasies, and posting them to her subscription website, HaveAGoodWood.com.
For all that this seems like the act of a libertine, Diana is a voyeur of her own life. She can't articulate why she is no longer attracted to her husband, Oliver. She is uncomfortable talking about her disintegrating marriage to her friends. She is resentful of the arrogant, dismissive men who use her as a token female to retain the investment business of a grieving free spirited heiress.
The overall effect, as a listener, is one of frustration - talk to him. Quit your job and do Good Wood full time. Your cocktail friends are trash, find sone new ones. And yet, trapped by her conception of the life she was supposed to lead, Diana keeps lying, to herself, to everyone around her, until the weight of those lies comes crashing down around her.
Much like other tales of upper-middle class white American mid-life crisis, there is something self indulgent about the show. Shades of American Beauty creep in, and moments of unconscious privilege (Oliver can find and rent a new apartment seemingly on a whim with no visible strain on the family finances, for example) are grating in a world where people are losing their jobs and homes in the midst of a pandemic.
But... if the stories of self absorbed, self important men and their man-pain, chafing at the limits of capitalist society and puritanical morality be considered worthy of an Oscar... why can't the stories of self absorbed and self important women be accorded the same consideration?
For all that I'm dragging the show for its unexamined politics, there is excellent dramatic and character work here. Demi Moore's performance is gold, and the rest of the cast is stellar. Cameos from professional actresses like Gwendoline Christie and Lena Dunham bookend each episode and crinkle with the intimacy of feminine desire. QCode's customary competent sound design is on full display and you will be pulled into Diana's world.
Dirty Diana is a good show and compelling drama, and certainly the contemporary audio drama rarely deals with sex and desire, making this programme a breath of fresh air.

2020.08.29 05:56 RobertGOTV 50 People I'd rather vote for than Joe Biden

Look, it was supposed to be 50 but I ran out of ideas.
40. A Chuck E. Cheese Animatronic – Way less creepy and uncomfortable to look at.
39. John Cain – Creator of the FHRITP video series.
38. “Weird Al” Yankovic – Let’s just prove to the world that we are entering the post-satire age.
37. Phil Tippett – Maybe he’ll be able to handle the dinosaurs in Congress.
36. Joe Rogan – Yeah, the dude might be on DMT, but he lays off the adrenochrome.
35. Martin Shkreli – His healthcare plan only raises my insurance rates 500%.
34. David Benioff & D. B. Weiss – Years 7 and 8 of their presidency will be a nightmare, the first term will be solid.
33. Lena Dunham – At least she only molests blood-relatives.
32. M. Night Shyamalan – Joe Biden would definitely be worse than that live-action Avatar movie.
31. Steve-O – Hey, he’s sober now.
30. Balsac the Jaws ‘o Death – The lead guitarist for GWAR. He would just disembowel any foreign leader who tries to take our jobs.
29. Ethan Zuckerman – Inventor of the internet pop-up ad.
28. Jenna Jameson – If we’re going to have an abject whore in the White House, I’d rather it be one I’ve jerked to.
27. Ivan the Dick Chopper – He cut off 25,000 dicks during his career. Radical left SWJs have emasculated far more soy boys.
26. Michael Vick – Good thing Trump doesn’t have a White House dog.
25. David Carradine – Less embarrassing.
24. Larry the Cable Guy – I’d rather someone who can relate to blue collar workers.
23. Carol Baskin – I’ve never seen the Tiger show, but I’ve seen Joe Biden, and she can’t be that bad in comparison.
22. Stubbs – This cat was mayor of an Alaskan town for 20 years with ZERO scandals.
21. Jacqueline Ades – She doesn’t give up very easily.
20. Gilbert Gottfried – At least the acceptance speech will be easier to listen to.
19. Barron Trump – No, not when he’s old enough to run. The actual 14 year old kid.
18. Mick Gordon – He might not be able to deliver on time, but the dude can put together a soundtrack.
17. Max Headroom – He doesn’t stutter as much.
16. Mao Tse Tung – Because I could rest assured that only 50 million would die instead of all of us.
15. My 77yr Old Aunt Who Calls Her Bank For Tech Advice Because Her Keyboard is Broken – The boomer you know is better than the boomer you don’t.
14. Michele Obama – If we’re going to elect a democrat, it should at least be one with a big swingin’ dick, am I right?
13. James Rolfe – He’ll know when a trade deal is bullshit.
12. Koko the Gorilla – She has better communication skills.
11. Walter Palmer – The guy who killed Cecil the Lion. Better than killing the American dream.
10. John McAfee – I’m not even joking about this one. That guy is awesome.
9. Bridget the Midget – Big things come in small packages.
8. Aaron Hernandez – This football player may have suffered CTE from repeated concussions, but his brain was still less soupy than Joe Biden’s.
7. Whoever Invented Incest Porn – You know who you are.
6. Dennis Hof –He ran a brothel better than Joe Biden could run America.
5. Cheesy Potato Lady – Watch for yourself and you’ll understand why.
4. Casey Anthony – I’d trust her more than Joe Biden with both my country and my kids.
3. Quentin Tarantino – At least then, calling me a racist for voting for him would make sense.
2. Stephen King – He may be a deranged coke-powered schizo of a leftist, but nobody will be surprised when he unveils himself to be an undead servant of Satan.
1. Pepe The Frog – Yes, that’s right. I’d take a cartoon frog over Joe Biden

2020.08.24 08:23 DangZagnut Women are innocent angels.

Celebrity Women who have harassed/abused others.
Rebel Wilson:
During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Rebel admitted that she stuck a finger up her co-star’s, Tom Hardy’s, butt without his permission. This caused Tom Hardy to longer speak to her. She later went on to brag about how she has grabbed the breast of various women she has worked with. "If you’re going to touch somebody inappropriately, you have to tell them before the take and say, ‘Is it alright if I do this to you?,’ “ Rebel shared. “But I forgot… maybe, like, deliberately forgot.”
Lena Dunham:
During a red carpet event Lena tried to surprise Brad Pitt by kissing him on the mouth without his permission. It is clear from the photos that Brad was not expecting it and he looked slightly uncomfortable.
Lena also wrote in her book about how she once looked at her little sister’s vagina because she was curious and she would often pay her sister to lay on top of her. She even described herself as being like a predator.
Katy Perry:
While working as a judge on American Idol Katy Perry asked a 19 year old if he had ever been kissed before when he said no she asked him to come over to her. He told her she could kiss him on the cheek, but instead she choose to kiss him on the lips despite him saying he was saving his first kiss.
“I was a tad bit uncomfortable,” Mr. Glaze said by phone this week, after the incident aired on the season premiere. His first kiss was a rite of passage he had been putting off with consideration. “I wanted to save it for my first relationship,” he said. “I wanted it to be special.”
Asia Argento:
Jimmy Bennett accused Asia of sexually assaulting him when he was a minor. At first she denied that they had slept together and later admitted that she did pay him money to keep quiet. He claims that she gave him alcohol and then pushed him on the bed and got on top of him. Asia has known Jimmy since he was a child and often referred to herself as his mother. Jimmy received a lot of backlash from people saying the men can’t be assaulted and he should have kept quite.
Kelly Brook:
While being interviewed on “This Morning” Kelly laughed about how she punched two men in the face. She punched one of her ex boyfriend while he was dancing and punched the other one after he gave is number to another girl. She tried to attack him again and was stopped by a bouncer. Both her and the hosts laughed about the situation.
Emma Roberts:
In 2013 Emma Roberts was arrested and charged with domestic violence against her then boyfriend, Evan Peters. When police arrived at the hotel Evan had a bloody nose. He later dropped the charges. A friend described their relationship as toxic.
Naomi Campbell:
Naomi has been accused and arrested for abusing her staff on multiple occasions. From slapping her driver in the face to beating her personal assistant with a cellphone. Another personal assistant and her maid have also claimed to be physically abused by her. Causing one of them to get stitches due to being beaten in the head. Her spokesperson claimed that she is “ill” and shouldn’t be judged for her actions.
Mariah Carey:
Mariah’s ex-bodyguard has accused the singer of sexual harassment. He claims she would often expose herself to him while he was working. She would also refer to him and his co-bodyguards as nazis and skinheads.
Demi Lovato:
As a prank Demi hired a stripper to prank her bodyguard while he was asleep. “I hired a lady of the night in Vegas and send her to Max’s hotel room to surprise him. She walked into his room without permission and grabbed him in his ‘area’ and he freaked the fuck out hahahaha,” Lovato wrote in a now deleted tweet.
After receiving backlash Demi deleted the tweet and then complained about how people get mad at everything she does.
Amber Heard:
In 2009 Amber was arrested for physically assaulting her then girlfriend. She later went onto to accuse her other ex, Johnny Depp, of domestic abuse, but recent audio recordings have reveled that she is in fact the abuser and told Johnny that he can’t run away from her when she is attacking him because it makes him a “baby”. It is believed that she was also the one who cut off the tip of his finger.
I feel that so many people are willing to over look when a female celebrity is accused of abuse and harassment. It’s often considered “not that bad” or its treated like a joke.

The fact that there are people who feel the need to shit on her art is awful. If you don't like it, just leave it alone? I know we should ignore the publications trashing her but this stuff makes me so mad and I had to vent to you guys. If you don't want to give them the clicks, it's basically just some person saying Lana's poetry is meaningless and rambling and he calls her pretentious and "the Lena Dunham of music", a comparison so insulting I want to barf.

All this does is prove her IG post from a while back was and still is accurate. People in the industry love to bully her. I fail to see how that is privileged. Cracked is trash 💅

2020.07.18 00:17 Romt0nkon Rate/discuss: TINY FURNITURE (2010) / REALITY BITES (1994)

I know that making a thread about Lena Dunham is like shaking a wasp nest with a stick, but still... Ten years since her debut film has passed, "Girls" is over and she's fallen into irrelevance. Isn't it a time for a sober discussion about her legacy? Moreover, "Tiny Furniture" has been added to The Criterion Collection and I know many of you love that thing, so likely bought it for your collection.
What do think of it? What interest me in particular is how well it aged after ten years. At a time mumblecore was on the rise and critics were looking for a new "voice of a generation", so the stars aligned and Lena became a Millenial icon in the eyes of people at least fifteen years older and knowing shit about millenials. But now?
As you have noticed, in the title there is also the mention of "Reality Bites". There is a reason for this: I've long been wanting to check out that one but too lazy to actually do it, so I need people to tell me what it's about. Frankly, I just need to know one thing: why it's considered one of the definitive Gen-X pictures? I understand why "Clerks", "Trainspotting", "Fight Club" and "Garden State" have this reputation, but what's so special about "Reality Bites"?
Considering that both films have a reputation for being truthful in their generational portraits while centering at the same time around recent college graduaties and their first steps into adult life, I thought it would be appropriate to unite them.

2020.07.08 18:52 sugarbageldonut Hamilton is Problematic

Hamilton, as seen on Disney+, is incredibly overrated and problematic
I’m sure people have written this opinion in before previously. Thought I’d bring up this take in lieu of Disney+’s new release. Spoiler alert to those who haven’t seen the production.
Don’t strike me down, but I really didn’t enjoy watching the streamed version of Hamilton.
My issues with it:
  1. how it’s a jingoistic, hagiography to Alexander Hamilton. It claims he was an abolitionist, which wasn’t true. He was a manumissionist—pro the gradual (as opposed to immediate) phasing out of slavery. It’s believed he even owned slaves, as did the Schuyler family, that tailer-spy, and most of the other characters in the musical.
  2. the music was mediocre. I wish they used the remix album for their official show. I didn’t leave having been moved by any song in particular. Hip-hop is powerful, edgy, and poignant. None of the raps had that aesthetic. And the musical numbers were predictable.
  3. the Maria Reynolds scene was problematic. He was a politician and influential figure, and she expressed that she was battered and helpless, making her incredibly vulnerable. Instead of having sex with her (was she also a child at the time?), he should’ve helped her fiscally to enable her to leave her husband, and perhaps by suggesting legislation to protect women (which he would never do in real life). I get it that the chorus was telling him “no, don’t do it.” So, it’s as though the Greek chorus was reminding the audience that what he did was wrong. Thus, the show is supposed to illustrate Hamilton’s flaws. However, Reynolds being in a red dress (symbolic of seduction), and Hamilton bring the protagonist/the hero of the story makes the expressed morals of the scene more vague...
  4. Lin-Manuel Miranda is problematic. Raised by an incredibly affluent family, he really doesn’t understand the working-class plight. He also advocated against Hamilton being replaced by Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill. Like Lena Dunham, he throws his weight behind neo-Liberals while projecting an air of progressivism. Like her, he also stars in his own productions (that he wrong), even though he’s not a strong performing artist (his acting and singing were horribly, and paled in comparison to the strong performances from the other cast members).
  5. As a dancer, I thought the dancing was horrible and the artists were unnecessary (just thrown in to make it feel more like a Broadway musical).
  6. the astronomical ticket prices made the live show inaccessible to working-class people like myself. They prioritized prophets over outreach. Thus, Hamilton engendered a lot of hype, which it didn’t match up to.
  7. the same actors playing different characters cheapened the characters. I didn’t connect with any of those supporting characters, as their presence was brief and not fleshed-out. Ergo, they had no dynamic changes or character arcs. And the narrations by these actors took me out of the show.
  8. Too much info was crammed in there. They should’ve focused on a shorter time phrase and really fleshed out all the characters—including the Schuyler sisters, who, in my opinion, were underused.
I agree with Ishmael Reed who composed an anti-Hamilton play called The Haunting of Lin-Manuel Miranda
Watching the production is like looking back through a time capsule at 2016. The show hasn’t aged well since then in light of the BLM and MeToo movements.

2020.07.08 02:56 OutlastOnWii-U Famous woman molested her sister when they were kids? "FUCK THAT PIECE OF SHIT!" Famous man molested his sister when they were kids? "I dunno, even if this is true, we can't hold a child accountable for their actions..."

I can't actually link to the thread at hand, even with an NP, because I'll get banned for "instigating brigading", but over on GamerGhazi, someone posted an article about how when he was nine years old, Adam Savage from Mythbusters allegedly anally raped his seven year old sister, and continued to do so for three years. Personally, I'm really frustrated and disappointed by the reaction from the userbase, the thread's been heavily downvoted and most of OP's comments have been mass downvoted as well.
I bring up the Famous WOMZ/Famous Man dichotomy simply because back in 2014, Lena Dunham wrote in her autobiography that she sexually molested her sister for years, starting when she stuffed a bunch of rocks into her sister's vagina when she was a year old and Lena was seven, respectively. When her sister got older, Lena would sleep in the same bed as her and make them masturbate each other. She thought these were humorous anecdotes, somehow. Everyone on that sub was disgusted.
But when the sister of the Mythbusters dude says he would get in her bed at night and call himself "The Rape Blob" before sticking his penis in her, they're going nuts with "HE WAS ONLY NINE YEARS OLD AND IT WAS THE 1970S, IT WAS A DIFFERENT TIME AND HE CAN'T BE JUDGED FOR IT!" Why weren't they making similar excuses for Dunham? I don't know if Ghazi somehow got even more liberal over time or what, but this seems like a majorly weird sexist double standard. Both of these incidents need to be condemned equally, instead of making ridiculous claims like "JEEZ, OP WANTS TO SEND BABIES TO JAIL!!"

2020.07.04 23:03 Kreeps_United The Default is No

I have to give a little preamble so that you know who this is coming from. I don’t call myself a feminist. I love my anarcha-feminists who are some of the coolest people I’ve ever met and make me wish I became a socialist sooner. That said, I roll my eyes at the Slumflowers and Clementine Fords of the world and hate Lena Dunham. I believe social justice spaces often engage in behavior that pushes young men away, I think false accusations should be talked about, I think male issues should be addressed for the sake of addressing male issues.
If any of that turned you off, cool. If any of that resonated with you, then I think I’m the one who can communicate a very important idea.
Recently, a streamer who goes by FedMyster was kicked out of OfflineTV. For those who don’t know what that is, it’s a streamer house, a home where a group of streamers all live together. While there, he engaged in a lot of disgusting behavior, including the sexual harassment of a fellow streamer. I’ll link her story here, but the gist of it is that he would slip into her bedroom, lay on her bed, then touch and kiss her under the pretense that he was too drunk to know what he was doing. Later he would pretend to wake up with no memory of what he did. This is predatory behavior. This is planned. This was probably a precursor to worse, more invasive abuse.
People are describing this as “making a move”.
Not only are his actions being treated as flirting, but the victim is being blamed for not immediately kicking him out, screaming, or saying no. To anyone thinking that way (maybe due to inflammatory internet personalities) I want to share a concept: the default is no. It’s a no until you get an indication that there is a yes.
Think of it this way:
You’re a 5’3” guy eating a burger at Wendys. The Rock comes along, takes the burger out of your hand and starts eating it on his way out. Did you give him the burger? You didn’t punch him. You didn’t snatch it back. You didn’t even say to the 6’5”, 260 lb former wrestler, “no, don’t do that.” Did you consent, or did you just get robbed for a burger? If the latter, why didn’t you do something, even if it was just asking for help? There’s actually an answer for that.
Along with fight and flight there is a third response to stress: freeze. Like the two others, it comes with it’s own set of physiological responses and is very common. You can’t take someone not saying no as a green light. That’s something you should know when you’re on an actual date or “date” with someone you asked out or were asked out by. Slipping into someone’s room and feeling them up is crossing a line that will trigger a stress response. If you’re someone they trust, someone they didn’t expect this from, they might not know what to do or how to react or how your actions will affect the relationship, or the relationship with others in the house and now their brain is thinking about a hundred things while their body is not reacting.
That is not a yes. That’s a human being reacting to a frightening situation. That’s not making a move, it’s taking advantage of someone.
It’s actually offensive to me how this is being spun as someone just not knowing how to approach women. The line is: “I mean, aren’t you an awkward guy? You know how it is. There’s so much mixed messages out there, am I right?”
This is what led me to write this. I’m an awkward guy with bad people skills. You know how many bedrooms I’ve sneaked into? None. How many women I’ve groped? None. Between my awkwardness and my race, I’ve had to avoid situations where I can even being accused of acting scummy. That shouldn’t be my responsibility. That hasn’t always worked, but it has provided me with the lived experience of awkward men being some of the most considerate people, the least aggressive people, in the world because we have to be. Despite all the talk of incels (which seems to include a lot of married with children men) I’ll die on that hill, on God.
FedMyster is an outgoing internet personality who knew how to befriend women and then test their boundaries. He’s not introverted, he’s a groomer. I don’t want young men hearing the justification for his actions and making the stereotype about awkward men into a self-fulfilling prophecy just so a predator can get a pass.
If you are a quiet, awkward guy, then people have probably taken advantage of you in the past. You probably think back and wonder why you allowed them to do that. Maybe you shouldn’t have been so nice, maybe you should stop being nice in general. While you should definitely stand up for yourself, don’t beat yourself up. The shame is with the other person, the one who took note of your disposition and took advantage of it. Men who put people in a stressful situation and pretend silence is compliance are the same species. They’re not misunderstood like you, they would take advantage of you in one way or another if they had the chance. They probably have. While sexual harassment should be called out for the sake of calling out sexual harassment, calling out the predators and takers in this world helps you as much as anyone.
Don’t become what you had to fight against so many times. Don’t let anyone confuse silence with a yes. It’s a “no” until you get an indication otherwise. I think you know that, but I know the world can make you question your morals. I know it seems that those without morals are the one getting ahead.
Think about where that got FedMyster. Shit, think where that got Weinstein or Bill Cosby.

2020.07.02 00:35 PinkFurLookinLikeCam Say Bible Podcast discussion June 30, 2020 “Keeping Up With the Billionaires“

Start-4:10: “We need to come up with another word, our Reddit friends don’t like ‘Konnoisseur” ...”cause they probably can’t Fucking spell, they cant even spell ‘Larsa’ right” (lol I’ve been spelling it correctly so calm down)
Kathleen says “Kardashian Afflicted” works better. They’re not haters, but that it’s a toxic relationship. Claim to not be haters of Kim due to defending her sex tape (even though on multiple episodes they’ve shamed her body, her sexy fashion choices, and made up a rumor about having a side piece but noooo they are NOT haters). Kathleen goes on that they’re extremely fascinated by the family and emotionally attached due to nostalgia and likens them to a sibling, a toxic ex, or a narcotic and they’ll try and change the name. They realize the podcast “has evolved”.
Nat talks about Instagram comments she argued in an unnamed instagram, the post says that GAP is trying to pit two black designers against eachother (more on this later) and they shouldn’t be in black spaces (I mean they kinda seem to be doing this, more info later).
4:10- 11:40: Tee republic (where they do their merch) is having a sale and they say that they don’t actually do the sale themselves, that this company picks the products on sale. This website has been selling the masks the whole time, and since it’s all custom, it’s always been available since they began. (They’re selling mask after attacking Kim for the same so-) claim the company told them to promote their face masks since the site has a sale and they say they’re not making much money off them. Kathleen says her white guilt has her donating her money.
Nat says “some Fucking moron” in the Instagram comments asks “Wasnt this what they were criticizing Kim for?”. Claims they never criticized Kim and instead were only wondering from the beginning why she wasn’t selling face masks and that they promoted her face masks (you know I always find it so entertaining when they change up the story. I KNOW Nat can’t possibly believe this load of shit. Girl.)
Kathleen goes on that Kim “took too long” and that it was somehow wrong for her to put them out with skin tones and goes on to say that the deepest shade is straight up black (because Kathleen clearly doesn’t recognize that there are deeper complexions of black than she’s accustom to). Nat agrees with the sentiment. If you look at these swatches the deepest one is only on the model as a swatch, and clearly the model has a matching skintone in the swatch to her left. Also take note of the first model. Her face mask is lighter than she is so there’s no singling out anyone with these masks. There’s five shades and anyone has the option of either a flesh tone or neutral tone. I’m just not convinced that I should bash anyone for these face masks and find it interesting how they’re now able to sell face masks but it’s okay because they were forced to do it. Girl bye, y’all know this looks bad after all that trash talk).
Kathleen says it’s ok because she’s not trying to make money and that she “never” told Kim not to sell them and she “doesn’t know why” anyone thought they were telling Kim not to sell masks. Nat points out an insta comment dated 11 weeks ago of Kathleen urging Kim to sell face masks (even though they routinely attacked her for selling face masks). Mentions the Breonna Taylor shirt and where the proceeds will go and giveaways to paid Patreon members.
11:40- 15:49: “Khloe’s Fucking birthday party”. Begin by blurting out a mish mash of words “directions...guest list...decorations... blow up doll looks like Vicky Gunvalson (Of Real Housewives of Orange County)...tik tok...slide...”
Says Stormi’s blow up was weird and this one was just like that, and “the nose was so over the top”. Nat explains the photoshop is jarring but new brown hair is pretty, Kathleen agrees. Says Khloe looks great so they don’t understand the photoshopping and there are people who compare her lives with photos, showing the difference and that she looks great in her lives. Nat says everyone photoshops a bit, but Khloe look completely different in her photos even though she’s pretty in person. Kathleen says the recent photo of her laughing looked great. Then goes on to mock Kim and khloes for how they pose their lips in photos (wow wonder why they photoshop it’s so crazy guys, it’s not like they’re picked apart or anything)
15:49- 47:30: Discuss Rob. Kathleen says they’re Rob stans now and Nat says he got photos from many different angles so he must be feeling himself and he’s looking snackish. Kathleen offers that we’re intoxicated by nostalgia and that Kim could “take away” from this that we barely see him so we want to see him (noooo I’m sure this is totally Rob’s choice and not due to years of depression and drug addiction wtf is wrong with you). Nat says she still thinks he has issues with women and is treated like a baby, but he at least he didn’t look like he was forced to take the photos and seems genuinely content and thicc. Kathleen reiterates that Kim needs to take notes (yeah Kim needs to go through what Rob went through y’all are just something else). They exclaim that they love Corey and to unblock them.
Discuss Scott and FoodGod’s hair. Nat attempts to end by saying if Rob got over his tantrums when he doesn’t get what he wants he’ll be A-ok. Mention his Rita Ora era.
This last comment sparks a side conversation that last for exactly 13 minutes and has fuck all to do with the podcast, discussing Rita Ora and Britney Vs Cristina. At the very end, Nat brings it back around and mentions that Kim is the only celebrity who’s famous for being famous (the ONLY one? this is laughably untrue, but I’d say she’s a rare “famous for being famous” type who went on to higher levels of fame and actually built business and works in prison reform and all that.) Says that Kylie is not even close to that (well I guess let’s give her time but she is a “famous for being famous” type for sure)
Nat swings it back around to Khloe and says she and Tristan are back together (I mean they say this twenty times per episode but thanks for the tea guys! Go head, give us nothing🙌🏼) and that Tristan was the only one dressed up at the party so something my have happened. That he deleted his “My Queen and My Princess” because E! Has a storyline rollout. Kathleen kept repeating “knocking boots” after saying that no ones hanging out with their ex not trying to have sex and khloes trying for another baby (so co-parenting really doesn’t exist for them. I mean both of their parents are still married and that’s considered a luxury to many, so have some empathy for broken families in general or something...?) Nat says fuck him already and get the sperm from the tap. Kathleen does her same boring line about how Tristan saw no consequences and never publicy apologized and yadda yadda yadda I got bored listening to this same garbage 🥱
Nat says that Scott got cut off for 2-3 years and wasn’t invited to family stuff while Tristan hasn’t missed anything (actually Kourtney set boundaries as a victim of abuse but let’s just make it about how Scott is a victim right. And Khloe and Kourtney are different people so what’s the point of comparing..? Tristan did not abuse Khloe or their daughter so cut it the fuck out).
Go on to say that they don’t mention Jordyn and insinuate that it’s somehow Khloe’s complete responsibility to talk to Jordyn and make amends and that Jordyn is a child (uhhh no sis sorry this ain’t it. and child? Where? So if she’s a child why y’all ain’t screaming statutory? Cause she was definitely in her 20s, so stop it) Says Tristan is a master manipulator, (completely bypassing Scott’s years of gaslighting) and goes on to repeat the same old same old about Tristan versus Jordyn 🥱🥱🥱 that have a push and pull until Kathleen finally shuts Nat up to completely dominate the conversation and rant about Tristan for 5 minutes while Nat attempts to recover control. Kathleen just keeps shutting her up (we ain’t gonna silence black people y’all!!!111 /s) Nat just agrees and hahas and finally takes advantage of a pause to quickly transition.
47:30-1:08:25: Discuss Jameela Jamil and her last round of body policing Kim after she posted a throwback photo wearing the famous Met Gala corset. She first tweeted that there are more important things in the world and Kim needs to talk to her friend Trump (🙄) Nat says she should have left it like that, sat there and ate her food but nooooo the very next day she makes an insta post that was super long and ranty, accusing Kim of having body dysmorphia (which is BEYONDDDD gross on so many levels you don’t “accuse” someone of this, ever. If there’s a concern then the person needs to be directed to therapy but publicly in front of millions? Fuck you Jameela wtf)
Nat says she thinks women are attacked simply for wanting to look good and that women shouldn’t be accused of having body dysmorphia just because. Kathleen says Jameela steamrolls right past this and women in society have a level of expectations so maybe thats part of it but she liked the Trump call-out (🙄) and that if something she’s consuming is causing harm then it’s ok to stop consuming it, even if that’s Kim’s body. Basically Jameela should stop looking at Kim if it hurts her so much. Nat reads the end of Jameela’s insta rant, where Jameela tells followers that they have control and should unfollow people that don’t make them feel good about themselves. Calls out the patriarchy and to block and delete everything and only follow activists. Nat says she seems to have completely lost it and Jameela insinuates that activists are devoid of any desire to look attractive (and also strips them of any humanity) Kathleen says Kim drives her up the wall but Jameela doesnt get to say what is the right type of feminist and this opens up the floodgates for people to be criticized for using their body to express art which is fucked up and she doesn’t want a brand of feminism where women are not allowed to be sexual or look attractive. Also she says she’s bi in response to criticism of hosting a ballroom contest and overall doesnt know when to take a step back (so as a bi, fuuuuuck her. You don’t come out as a way of cleansing your mistakes or shall we remember Kevin Spacey did this fuck shit too?).
Nat says the patriarchy line may have worked have if she discussed the history of corsetry but not in this context and overall doesn’t understand where the fixation originated from (YOU GUYS....) Kathleen hijacks the podcast and keeps repeating the same things already said for another while. At some point she’s finished and they both mock her prison reform work.
1:08:25-1:21:24: KKW beauty in business with COTY, who bought a stake in the beauty brand. Says COTY purchased a part of the company for $200Million and now the company is valued at $1Billion. Nat says the math ain’t mathin’ and she doesn’t understand how these numbers worked and after Forbes she doesn’t trust them. Go on to talk about how it’s all so shady. (here’s the announcement which explains that due to COTY purchasing a 20% stake in KKW Beauty, their stock rose quite a bit. That 20% rise in turn caused KKW Beauty to be estimated to have more value. Y’all just trash her for anything god damn it’s not that serious).
Kathleen does this really cringy attempt at a clapback I guess? Says “I have one thing to say” and then awkwardly plays the theme to the show Succession (really awful audio the moment was really weird you’d have to hear it yourself) and how “it’s all related and planned and they knew” (You...you ok girl?) Nat explains that Kylie and Kim probably got the deal at the same time, they just announced it at different times. Kathleen talks more about the show Succession and does a pretty uncomfortable attempt at a British accent (my skin crawled). They go on to claim that they “like” the kardashians but they “do fucked up stuff” and have trust issues. More random comments. Kris has 8% stake in KKW Beauty. Says 20 more times they’re shady etc etc etc k we get it
1:21:24-1:36:31: Deal between GAP and Kanye, 10 year partnership. Say GAP was crying about being broke but now this large buyout; but in truth they have everything to gain from it since apparently anyone will buy whatever from kanye, even a white tshirt (the Shadeeeee). Says a good thing coming out of this is a black woman will be the lead designer for this partnership. However Nat mentions that @Diet_Prada pointed out that GAP already had a collab with another black designer, Telfar which was announced a while ago so they essentially ghosted the designer. GAP postponed via email and offered an advance of funds given the postponement and that was the last time they contacted him. Supposedly they’re not putting that on Kanye but GAP already had a black designer they were working with so why this? (I think it’s GAP who fucked up and it’s neither Kanye nor Telfar’s fault but it’s ugly I’ll say that ...this don’t seem right)
Kathleen goes on to make it about her and that the husband of her partner at the now defunct What Would Yeezus Wear insta was a fashion designer who used to give them clothes for the Instagram and now he’s on the team for this partnership (I find this tidbit very interesting as Kathleen as insisted since day one that they used to throw on whatever clothes they had and take really quick photos...for whatever reason she hid the fact that she had help with the wardrobe.) says it’s surreal and weird how he’s on the team and she would have loved this but doesn’t care now. Goes on to repeat this a few more times and says that “despite reddit hater threads” she’s just a normal person (ummm no one has hurled hate at you the way you’ve hurled at Kim I promise you couldn’t take the same shit you throw and I don’t sink as low as you but ok ma’am) random gibberish about their colleges and Nat says hers still uses a photo of her for diversity reasons, while Kathleen says she’ll write them an email (because only SHE has the power 💪🏻)
1:36:31-1:46:05 Plug new Netflix movie (this podcast guerrilla marketing is sooo cool tbh they always have the podcasters slip it into random conversation and make it seem natural). Talk about country music and Osama Been Hiding’s assassination announcement at a Rascal Flatt’s concert Kathleen was at. (Lots of filler this episode like it really didn’t have to be 2 1/2 hours lmao)
1:46:05-1:52:01: Tyra mail side eyes Kourtney for hanging out with Tik Tok girl who copied a dance created by a black girl. Says you can’t do them tik tok dances at the club and arrest the killers of Breonna Taylor and Elijah McClain.
Kathleen says that white girls do the dances terrible and gross and she feels weird watching it and would rather see Meg Thee Stallian or Teyanna Taylor twerk (but only twerk, cause were gonna put black women in a box). Ask if Kourtney moved in with her cause she’s always over there?? Kathleen says “I know listeners are aware of my alabaster hue” and her body moves awkwardly but she was sOoOoOo obsessed with pop, lock, and drop it (girl we get it you’re White jfc) Nat says her ancestors didnt equip her for that shit.
1:52:01-1:57:43: Tyra mail again talks about Kourtney and her tik tok friend and that got her thinking how many friends she’s stolen over the years from the family, and now she’s taking her own kids friends and Penelope better watch out. Says maybe Kourtney isn’t as annoying as they portray her and she’d love to see a spin off with Rob and Scott working on their problems. That it’s strange Kanye tweeted Kim congratulating her billionaire status but can’t tweet her to say happy Mother’s Day. (It’s the company value not her and same goes for Kylie too)
Kathleen says she never went to Wyoming this year and they’re sharing pics from the same trip from last year (but imagine the shitstorm Kathleen would rain upon her if she flew over there 🤣 the rant she had over some florists dropping off flowers was pretty twisted so I don’t get the complaint here?) Nat points out that Kim said Kourtney is more fun than her so it makes sense. Kathleen describes her sisters friends taking to her better. Goes on talking about herself and complain about Kim and calls out reddit jokingly.
1:57:43-2:02:56: New listener observes that Kylie and fam have a fetish for black culture and surround themselves with key black friends/partner to elevate their status. Says Kylie consistency likes Saweetie’s pics but doesn’t see any evidence that they’re friends and finds it strange so she thinks Saweetie is everything she wishes she was.
They theorize that Kylie’s doing damage control due to drama between Stass and Cuervo and Saweetie and Kylie. (I checked the last 3 pictures and didn’t see a single like from kylie btw) Nat says celebrities just gravitate towards eachother and she also mentions that Saweetie’s dad is also super hot👀 (I checked and WHEW🥵 I need to fan myself 🥵)
2:02:56-2:08:26: Tyra mail says is so obsessed with Kylie and wonders if now that she has a daughter does she look at her relationship with tyga differently and would she let that happen to Stormi too. Also what’s going on with Sofia as she wasn’t at Stass’ birthday but she’s still in her comments and she mentions how Sofia ditched her friends for kylie. Mentions Stass has her own friends and won’t move in with Kylie anytime soon.
Nat replies Stass has her own friends and Kylie just pulled her closer. Kathleen says they just rushed Stass out the door after Jordyn and joked that maybe they’re breaking up because Stass wasn’t at khloes birthday party but doesn’t see her betraying them, she just has her own life. Says that there will come a day where she’ll be older and reflect on that relationship much like Kim reflected on her first marriage, just that not enough time has passed. Nat has her doubts because the family normalized the relationship.
2:08:26-2:13:24: Tyra mail says she’s grossed out by kourtneys last story where it seems like Khloe is trying to finger her over her clothes and wants to know if this is normal in Hollywood? Because it sends the wrong message.
Nat says she’s not wrong, as Rob use to talk about having sex with khloe and in a video Kylie tries to put her hand down Kendall’s pants and other weird shit they’ve done. Kathleen mentions two sister on her softball team that punched eachother in the last bits all the time and that it’s a weird sister thing and they see it as normal. (It’s not normal) Nat offers the time that Kourtney waxed Khloes vajayjay and how comfortable they are. Mention Lena Dunham (she sexually molested and penetrated her own sister cause she’s a monster). Go on to mention other examples of the fam being too comfy.
2:13:24-2:16:25: Tyra mail hates Kim’s Wyoming outfits, that they’re too early 2000s in a bad way and the hair looks bad.
Nat says oddly enough the designer of those clothing are the same designer of the Yeezy GAP line so hopefully it’s not a sign of what it’ll look like. Kathleen says the clothing doesn’t make sense and it’s too hot because it’s june (but remember that Kathleen just said they’re old photos so why is she saying they’re recent? Lol)
2:16:25- Tyra mail rants about “Trashtin” because he called Khloe a queen and she hates Khloe because she always has to stamp her approval on people within the fam and it’s funny how she got mad at Kourtney for taking Scott back and she laughed really hard rewatching Tristan cheating on her with she was pregnant. Complains that she lied on the show about fillers but admitted to fillers on Kocktails with Khloe and cant stand her pit bull nature. Email goes on and on complaining about Khloe but you get the gist. Rants that Khloe only took Tristan back to prove to the world she can keep a man and they deserve eachother.
Kathleen starts talking about Tristan cheating timelines and I guess Khloe is trash because he’s cheated a lot so let’s blame her over and over again because victim blaming is so healthy and healing. Discuss their socials and Kourtney was on that one Cattle Drive show.
Sorry this upload was late guys!! I had a migraine last 24 hours 😩 seems that Kathleen is trying to replace ranting about Kim with talking aimlessly about unrelated things, and that points to a problem of fear of silence or fear of ending a sentence. She added at least 45 minutes to the episode and there wasn’t even an episode of KUTWK to discuss!! Like I know she has anxiety about ending sentences but she meanders through it until she’s exhausted, but she’s exhausting us too!!!! She never has any idea where she’s going with a sentence; she just remembers stuff, people, or things and adds it onto what she’s already talking about. I had to take many many breaks and rewind many times just to try and understand what she was saying half the time cause it don’t make sense!! Nat seems as if she’s experiencing her first criticism in her entire life so it’s agitating her, but Apple reviews say otherwise.
Edit: grammar...blame it on the migraine 😭

2020.06.30 01:31 jayjrey Irreparable Damage is Being Done To America (and the world) By Liberals, Social Media and Our Elected Leaders. A Final Post.

I plan to delete my Reddit account in the next 24/48 hours. As I write about below, the game is now rigged. I refuse to play. (See Reddits new rules).
I have actual sadness in my heart as I write this. I’ve never felt sad for this country before. Upset, sure. Disappointed, definitely. But what I’ve been seeing over the past few months (and years more broadly) actually hurts me. Every value we held dear and every principle we knew to be precious has been torn away, demeaned, ridiculed and mocked. We’ve handed the keys of our culture to a group of 20 yr olds and mindless celebrities and hail them as brave, discounting the wisdom of our elders, something we’ve always held in awesome esteem. We are attempting to rewrite our history, but only one side of it and tear down the side of it we don't like, failing to see the wisdom of preserving it. We cancel and silence anyone that doesn’t agree with us, but only one group of us. Our tech overlords edit and manipulate the things we say, see and read and our schools and universities proclaim to be bastions of learning, but only if you agree with what they say, and they only ever say one side of things. Everything else is now hateful, racist and bigoted. Everything. And we are ready, nay happy, to destroy someones life over something we think is hateful. Regardless of when it occurred, or if it was done with hate. Except of course, if they are on the right team (see Jimmy Kimmel, Governor of Virginia Ralph Northam, Lena Dunham, Howard Stern etc. etc. etc.)
We promote victim-hood for those that need to be lifted up the most, thereby not even giving them a chance. They will suffer more than anyone. We talk about gun violence, but only the ones that fit our narrative. In the last month there were tens and tens of murders in NYC and Chicago, hundreds even, according to one number I saw up 300% year over year. Black on Black violence. So so sad. So many innocent dead. But you wont hear about it. We don't bother with statistics, because if they don't show what we want, then they are just systemically racist. Our dictionaries edit definitions to match what the loudest and most violent now say they should now mean (yes Merriam Webster REDEFINED the word racism recently). 1984. We punish those that speak out against harming and doing immutable damage to children who's brains aren't fully developed and label them bigots and sexists. If my 8 year old "feels" like a m/w, than I am clearly an abuser if I don't start the hormone therapy to achieve that. We deny science as long as it fits our narrative. We hurt women and children as we promote this idea of Single motherhood and the destruction of the nuclear family. We think that promotes strong women. What it actually promotes is weak men. We hurt women who have trained their whole lives for awesome achievements by claiming that there are no physical differences between men and women and now their titles are stripped away and handed to men. We claim that you have no right to the money you have earned once you make to much, no matter how hard you worked. No matter the tears and sweat and blood you poured into it. "You didn't build that". We say loudly and forcefully that speech is violence but that violence (looting) is now speech and expression.
So many of these movements are based on lies. I would list them out here but ironically, l'll be censored. The rules are one sided, the game we are playing is rigged. Reddits new rules now allow a person of a minority to say whatever they want to someone in a larger majority ethnic group but not the opposite. Nothing needs to make sense. It's all about how it makes you feel, which of course, is subjective.
It is now hateful to be proud of your country - the one that many of our forefathers died to protect. The timeless and wise principles that created the greatest country the world has ever known. That has accepted the most refugees over time, that has integrating the most immigrants allowing them to have the freedoms every human soul deserves. We are manipulated to believe that there are some people who systemically cannot succeed in america. One of those people somehow ended up being the President of the Untied States. I didn't say we were PERFECT, but we are far and away the most generous and best set for success. For sure. Capitalism is derided. The system that brought more people out of poverty than any other. Is it perfect? Of course not, who ever claimed it was?
This is a new era. A terrifying one. Today our social media giants sensor us, tomorrow it could be our phone services and private text messages and emails. The rules are subjective. The rules are ever changing. The rules aren't rules at all. Our largest brands are scared and bullied and so they cave. Unilever will no longer use the word "whitening" in their products. I guess the word "white" is now a form of hate speech?
I cannot in good conscience be a part of this. I cannot support this. Of course disgusting rhetoric has no place in our country but we value the freedom to say it, no matter how vile. FREE SPEECH FREE THOUGHT AND FREEDOM.
There is so much more to say but I couldnt ever list it all. I am sad to part with so many great subs and communities but I do not fit in here any more. And I hope perhaps if enough of us take a stand we can once again become a society that values personal freedom over mob emotions.

2020.06.22 11:12 janedoelene You Are In Love & Lover

You Are In Love and Lover are Taylor's best in-love songs. Both of these I think are truly the epitome of love, I can't believe how incredible these songs are especially together, and how Taylor Swift is the greatest songwriter of our generation imho. I don't know if someone has already made a comparison like this, but here it goes!
This post I saw talks about different metaphors that are repeated in Taylor's lyrics and a common theme is how Taylor is always comparing being/falling in love with a story. Literally a Love Story is how she feels, views, and desires love. When I read the first few other examples, this lyric immediately came to my mind:
And why I've spent my whole life trying to put it into words
I didn't even know what song it was from, I had to sing it to myself to realize it was You Are In Love.
I know this song is about Jack Antonoff and Lean Dunham (ugh I try to forget that part usually) but in some ways, I think that adds to its beauty and her genius. She wrote this song as an observation of two people she saw were in love. This is what she truly wants out of a love story because it's how she views a fairytale, storybook relationship. I love Lover, and this song amplifies my love for that song. You Are In Love is what she was always dreaming of, and Lover is the realization of that. Which in turn makes me love You Are In Love even more because she found what she was searching for, if that makes any sense! hahaha, these two songs together are actually mindblowing.
Taylor has said about Lover that the mundane and normal things like leaving the Christmas lights up till January - not April, and saving a seat for someone to sit next to you, are what makes Lover so special basically. You Are In Love describes those same feelings, throughout the entire song. The song is all about how you just know you are in love because you can hear it in the silence, you can feel it on the way home, it's a feeling that can't really be described, but Taylor does it so well. I think that is a major part of Taylor's genius lyricism, she is the best of the best at describing feelings and emotions that are not easy to put into words. Which makes me love:
And you understand now why they lost their minds and fought the wars
And why I've spent my whole life trying to put it into words,
even more!! That perfectly shows why Taylor is so talented at songwriting. Her whole life has been dedicated to trying to understand love, and how she feels about different types/kinds of love she has experienced.
She also said that the Lover music video was inspired by the lyric You two are dancing in a snow globe 'round and 'round. This is how she dreamt of a magical, once in a lifetime kind of love. Inside the snow globe, they are protected, they are close together, and they will be that close forever and ever. Literally it's so beautiful, and it makes me so happy that she has finally found that kind of love for herself. You are In Love is all about feeling love, knowing you are IN love. Lover is too, but it is her actual (and hopefully final) love story this time.
There are so many other connections between the two, showing how she basically has what she has always viewed as a "perfect" relationship I think, like how humor in a relationship is something she values:
Lighthearted joke / And you'll save all your dirtiest jokes for me
How she wants to also be friends with her significant other:
"You're my best friend." / We could let our friends crash in the living room
How she wants a relationship where she can be herself, and it won't always be perfect:
You kiss on sidewalks you fight then you talk / Swear to be over-dramatic and true to myLover
How even though they both have past heartbreaks and experiences, they both wanted to commit to this love they have found:
And for once you let go of your fears and your ghosts / My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue
I like to pretend that You Are In Love is how Taylor knew she was in love with Joe at the beginning of their relationship and Lover is the update after a few years. I strongly dislike Lena, so this makes me feel better. But like I said, knowing that You Are In Love was an observation makes Lover even more meaningful when looking at Taylor's real-life and current relationship. Taylor Swift never fails to blow me away.

2020.06.18 17:37 checkit_123 Things I Loved About Girls

Okay I know I’m late to the party here but I’ve Just finished my first watch-through of Girls, and wow what a refreshing bit of TV drama. So don’t mind me just rambling on. After watching through I feel as if it’s left a big gaping whole in my life.
In the beginning I was a little bit unsure if I was going to enjoy it. At first it just seemed like a show about sex and I thought do these people do anything else? But as it went on and started exploring different themes I became more and more engrossed. A fine way to spend the lockdown. Every episode offers a lot for the audience to consider in its punchy half hour format. Which made the show a lot more bingewatchable. I couldn’t bear to see an episode end on a cliff hanger. Not when I have every episode waiting for me to press play. I don’t need this kind of tension in my life.
I love that it’s a voice for millennial women but doesn’t simply depict this demographic as morally righteous angels. It showed a lot of the negative things about modern relationships. It celebrates people’s right to enjoy casual sex while also depicting the emptiness of hook up culture, and the ambivalence of casual dating.
It’s very much a character based show and all of the characters have a lot of depth. When you feel you know someone they will change on you just as people do in real life. The idealised view of someone is usually based on the person they present you with. It demonstrates how fickle love can be.
In fact most of the characters weren’t particularly likeable they were selfish, jealous, narcissistic and often just plain nasty in the way they treat each other but you feel you can relate to them. You cared because you understood.
It would paint both sides of an argument so well you’d form a strong opinion about one of the characters decisions and they would explain their thoughts and feelings and you’d be completely disarmed.
The whole cast was great without exception. I thought Lena Dunham in particular was a great lead. Her face is so expressive. I could be really annoyed with her character and her eyes would well up and you could see her fighting back the emotion. It got me every damn time.
I had a lot of conflicting thoughts about Hannah she could be infuriating but also inspirational, loveable and strangely empowering in her attitude. She was a great ambassador for body positivity. She never seemed embarrassed of the way she looked she just rocked it hard in every episode. After six seasons I think I’m as familiar with Lena Dunhams tits as I am her face. And why not I never understood peoples issue with nudity. There’s nothing inherently sexual about being naked.
The writing was very impressive. Rather than pushing for progressive issues in a trite manner it presented them in a truthful way and left the audience to make up its own mind. In a way I don’t think I’ve ever seen on TV before. It respected the intelligence of its audience. There were points where you couldn’t even tell the point the writers were making. Which is great because with so many shows you feel as if the creators are breathing down your neck the entire time. I’m guessing this complexity is spurred on by Dunhams love of novels. An antidote to the formulaic TV narrative. It courageously pushed the boundaries of TV and I have so much love and respect for the creators.
The show ended in a strange place for me. I became so emotionally involved with the characters that I’d like to know what happened next. Perhaps a ten year catch up series would be cool. Providing that most of the cast would be up for it. I’m sure by then the nostalgia would be hard to resist.
I must say if you’re like one of the characters, your twenties is a weird time. There’s so much stress to compete and be the person you’re meant to be. But it does get somewhat easier. My twenties were an utter mess. I feel like I’m only just emerging from all this in my early thirties. That famous quote “youth is wasted on the young” sort of sums it up. Watching shows like this does a good job of highlighting what’s important, the things that will really matter when you look back at your formative years.

2020.04.24 11:46 ANDIOP869 👑FANTASY DRAG RACE SEASON 2 CAST MEET THE QUEENS 👑

As Season 1 is now about to crown a winner. It is time to meet the queens competing for the title of season 2 but I have now changed the name to Fantasy Drag Race as I think it sounds better so now lets make the queens.
--
--
Hi My Name is Sophia. I am 27 and I am from Northern Virginia. I am very good at comedy and improv, and I also can serve some looks and sew a bit. I can't sing at all so a singing challenge might be rough for her, especially when singing live, but besides that, I am generally well-rounded. My aesthetic is very modern, but I likes incorporating a lot of different elements, like camp, steampunk, and high fashion as well. My Snatch Game character would be Carole Baskin. I am nice but if someone attacks me, I will fight back.
--
--
Hi my name is Kitty Kalani I am 21 and I am from St. Louis, Missouri. She is a baby drag queen but they're ready to slay this competition. She has competed in pageants and won before. She is a pageant and look queen, but also a strong performer. A'Kiera Channel Davenport and Plastique Tiara are her inspirations and she is beautiful and fun just like them. She is also great at designing and sewing. Her weaknesses are that she is a younger, more inexperienced queen on the scene and she doubts herself sometimes. Her style is pageant queen and fashion drag. Her snatch game character would be Kris Jenner and would do her justice. She is sweet but knows that she is fierce. She enjoyed helping other queens but she knows she has to come first. She is nicer but can be shady if she needs to be.
--
--
Lotus - Age 23 - From Los Angeles, California! Lotus is known in the LA Scene for being a high fashion, high energy performer, with tons of passion for what she does, she works for everything she has gotten! Lotus is a high class, high fashion, avant garde runway queen! She is also a very distinguished performer, eating up any lipsync, runway, and comedy challenge that are thrown her way. She loves to sew and make her own outfits, and puts so much effort into everything does. Her weaknesses, However, are that she tends to overwork herself- making sure everything is PERFECT. And most of the time, it is always perfect. Her drag style is high fashion, polished, and so seamlessly gorgeous. She is also a trained performer, who excels in comedy, singing, dancing, etc. For Snatch Game, her favorite challenge: She will be portraying Kris Jenner, an impersonation she is KNOWN for on the LA Scene Lotus is very bubbly, very sweet and genuine, and gets along with everybody.
--
--
My name is London Bridges, I am 25 years old, and I live in NYC! London is a theatre queen. She serves camp, but don’t be surprised to see some glamour in there too. She can sew for sure, but it lands maybe less than half the time. However, in a lipsync, she has a couple tricks up her sleeve, so watch out. She’s funny and endearing, but maybe a little ditzy. For Snatch Game, she would definitely do Dance Moms legend Abby Lee Miller.
--
--
The Flaming Dame. The Dame is an immigrant from Greece, though she has a good grasp on english. She kills pageants in America and is known as one of the biggest threats in the circus. She can sew and she's incredibly funny. She's also a very good lipsyncer. She's a trained magician and also a professional at fire breathing and fire dancing. She's not the greatest with choreography however. She's actually an older queen who's just in very good shape. The Dame likes to look the best she possibly can and loves to include real flames in everything she does. The Dame is very congenial, motherly and nice. But she'll give you tough advice if she thinks its best for you
--
--
Miss Prada Empanada is 21 and from new jersey/nyc, her strengths are beauty, fashion and glam but her weakness would be anything thats too camp or ugly, for snatch game either Meghan McCain, Ellen Degeneres or Lena Dunham, her personality is a fierce bitchy latina diva with a heart of gold but she doesnt put up with bullshit and calls fakeness out
--
--
Corazon. She is a 25 year old Latinx drag queen from San Antonio, Texas. She has been doing drag for 6 years. Her strengths include sewing, dancing, singing and lip syncing. Her biggest weakness is comedy. She loves using lots of colors, and most of her drag has a huge Latin flare to it. Her snatch game character choices are Shakira, Cardi B or Paquita la Del Barrio Her personality is very fun, bubbly and vibrant, but at the same time you definitely don’t wanna get on her bad side because she will cut a bitch
--
--
Lucy Sky Diamond (Or LSD for short) is A Make up based queen that loves to make herself psychedelic looking. She is 23 years old and drag daughter of Christina Cotton Candy. She isn't as friendly and is VERY cynical. She loves roasting people and honestly doesn't like people who haven't faced Oppression or generally have had an easy life. She was a drug addict as a teen and even was kicked out of home as a teen. Christina Actually helped her get back on her feet and introduced her to drag. Lucy loves to now impress people (and make them jealous) of her crazy makeup. Lucy is a very Conceptual and Resourceful queen as she still does not have much money, She is very Driven and will do whatever it takes to win whether it be Shave her head or cut up her outfit. Shock value gives her a very good high and that's why she works so hard, to always impress and shock others with turnt looks and SICKENING makeup. She is very nerdy and a little on the thick side but that doesn't stop her.
--
--
My drag name is Kovit, 18 years old from Akron, Ohio. My strength is my creativity and originality but my weakness is that I could have not so good execution at times but I do try my hardest. My style is BDSM drag inspired by Hatari. My snatch game is Robin from Teen Titans and my personality is kinda calm and quiet but I have a lot of iconic moments.
--
--
Minty Frost. 22. Juneau, Alaska. Started to do drag at 16, in bars that her uncle brought her. He is her biggest fan ,her drag mother and the only person in her family that isn't against me doing drag. Strengths: Design and lipsync (She can act, but is not the best at it). Weaknesses: Comedy. Style: Confy (either furs or something more casual). Hillary Clinton. She is a sweetheart and very apreciative of what she has. She is very determined.
--
--
Kyla Mode - 27 They are from Los Angeles Drag style: a fashion forward queen who likes to infuse her Asian heritage in her designs History: has done drag for 5 years Strengths: a seamstress and actress Weakness: not the best dancer Snatch game character: Awkwafina Personality: very competitive but likes to help others along the way.
--
--
This drag queen's name is Maria Kart. She is 21 years old and she is from Chicago, Illinois. She is a camp queen, and is great and comedy. She loves to bring camp and humor to her looks, and is pretty polished. She would struggle with a commercial challenge or a challenge where she has to work with others. She does excel in challenges where she has to be funny, act, and sew however. Her Snatch Game character is Jennifer Coolidge. She is not outright mean, but she definitely instigates drama very sneakily.
--
--
Dexter - 24 year old New York queen who likes to show movie and pop culture references In her looks. She can create looks however her main strength is her acting skills, she is good at writing jokes however she isn’t really a dancer and not really witty when you put her on the spot. She isn’t really known for her performance skills however she can sell a performance. Snatch Game Character; Aubrey Plaza. She is really chill most of the time, however she can make really shady jokes here and there... She also can get really fed up with really confident ppl, like ppl like Brita.
--
--
Lu DeGorge, but you can just call me Lu 20 Portugal I've been doing online drag for little over a year now I like to think that I'm strong when it comes to theatricality: acting, singing, lip-syncing. And when it comes to dancing, these hips were made to swing, baby! I have a sarcastic type of humor, not too bitchy but sarcastic nonetheless. I like to think of myself as a creative person too. I can get in my head a lot, in terms of comedy, for example. If I'm not thinking about it and just let go I can be really funny but if I try to force it, it just becomes a mess. She likes to be fashionable and colorful. She takes a lot of inspiration from comic books and movies. She likes tailored outfits that just fit right and you can see all of her curves. I love a good shape. Which is why sometimes I go towards more geometric things. I have 3 choices for Snatch Game: Trixie Mattel, Olivia Coleman and Aubrey Plaza. But the one I feel most comfortable with improving is Trixie Mattel. Skinny Lege
--
--
My Name is Fallon F. I am part of the Haus Of Francis. I am 27. I live in NYC now but i have lived in LA and London too. I have been performing at night clubs since i was 18 in drag so i have been doing drag for 9 years. My Strenghts are singing dancing acting improv impersonations lipsyncing serving looks. My weaknesses is that i am a drama queen so i will be a villain. My style of drag is defo like my drag mama francis very glamour camp and a hoe. My Snatch Game Character would be Silky Nutmeg Ganache. My Personality is very bitchy but i can be funny too.
--

2020.04.19 01:15 MrsSolomon 50 reasons I hate Ryan the "boyfriend" Did I miss anything else?

I just finished the two seasons of Shrill and HATE that boyfriend of hers. Below are 50 reasons why I hate Ryan. ****Warning SPOILERS below**** So read this after watching yourself.
What did I miss? Who did you dislike? If this is a good example of how Millenials are, I fear for their and everyone else's future. Maybe the COVID Virus will force these people with prolonged adolescence to grown-up and fast?
I get that it is a story and that it is VERY similar to Lena Dunham's GIRLS where the characters are deeply flawed and not likable, but come on, really?

  1. He is bad in bed. Selfish people make bad lovers.
  2. Does not go down on her like a rock star until he makes her his girlfriend.
  3. He “likes to raw dog it” putting himself and his “partner” at risk. Beyond selfish. Actually dangerous.
  4. Thinks that “raw dogging it” is “better “ for her too. Like I said, see #1
  5. He tells her he jacked off an hour before she got there and tells her like she should care or get anything out of knowing that info. TMI.
  6. He has something akin to social Tourette's syndrome. Definitely a form of Personality Disorder, I just do not know which one. Please comment with your theory.
  7. Does not cuddle with her until she “makes” him by standing up for herself
  8. Sleeps on a mattress on the floor. Anyone pass the age of 25 should have $50 for a metal basic bed frame.
  9. Does Not have a second pillow. Again, what kind of grown man has only one pillow case-less pillow? Grown-ups have at least 2 pillows.
  10. OMG how old is that sleeping bag? I am in my late 40s and remember that sleeping bag from my childhood.
  11. Makes her leave through the back
  12. He has her leave through the back even though there is no clear and or easy way to get out through the back yard. IE she has to “hop” the small fence.
  13. He is working on a dumb idea about Alcatraz and he doesn't even live in SF
  14. He is wrong about Alcatraz being the ONLY cool prison. Uh, what about Folsom? Johnny Cash played there. Super cool factor. Also, Sing Sing in NYC? So famous and therefore cool.
  15. His idea of the name is lame. “Talking ‘Traz” His work buddies idea is better for a PODCAST, not a book or web site/blog but a podcast
  16. He is no thin thing himself and totally sports a “dad” bod with quite a “beer belly.”
  17. Speaking of dad bod….He didn’t tell her he has a kid. Let alone a 14-year-old, let alone a 14-year old that lives in another country. Probably doesn't pay child support?!? He says that he has been asked to stay out of the son's life and it is pretty easy to see why. I know this is fictional but
  18. That beard LOOKS like it smells like sour milk, BO and weed.
  19. He needs a haircut.
  20. He works at a hardware store and has no ambition outside the ridiculous Alcatraz project.
  21. His first reaction to her pregnancy is “oh shit”
  22. Second reaction after she tells him she aborted the child is “Oh good.” Not immediately consoling her. Just thinking about himself and his feelings
  23. He calls this ‘huge thing in [her]life” as “that abortion thing.”
  24. Invites his work buddies to the first date where he takes her out on a date. Greets them with “I'm glad you guys could make it.” when they crash his date with the girl he allegedly is trying to win over?
  25. Fights with his idiot friends during the date. Causing a scene. People work hard for their $ and deserve to enjoy their dinner free of Millenial a**holes yelling graphic profanities at each other.
  26. THEN asks “you still coming home with me tonight?” UGHHH
  27. His idea of foreplay is saying “I like your butt.”
  28. Again refer to #1 when he asks “Do you want to watch me jack off?” Come to think of it, refer to #5 also while you are at it.
  29. His Mommy still does his laundry
  30. Scolds mom for making him meat for breakfast
  31. AND he told mommy about her abortion and subjected her to the weird “you killed my grandchild” type response. I guess the inappropriate apple does not fall far from the inappropriate tree.
  32. HE STANDS HER UP AT THE WORK PARTY!!! Presumably, he did not invite her to the rager party he was having at his own house. So, not only self-centered/clueless/narsi
  33. He says things like “she is in the rotation” when confronted about not being monogamous
  34. Justifies exposing her to undue risk (due to his love of raw dogging. Got to assume he is doing that with the other chick right?) with “we never said this was exclusive.” Again see #5
  35. Only after she is with someone else does he appreciate his truly sh*tiy ways and says “he hates this.” when talking about being with other people
  36. He wears a shirt inside out in public. Probably doesn't realize but this does not excuse him.
  37. He shrooms with the dog?
  38. Lays naked on the front lawn with his Farmer’s tan for ALL the world to see. Yuk.
  39. He doesn't read her articles until he wants her to be his girlfriend
  40. His IQ is probably not a 3 digit number
  41. After all that time, energy and “work.” his podcast is lame.
  42. He can't throw a frisbee. I mean he can throw a frisbee in that he can throw it and it hits the ground but he doesn't know how to make it glide like a normal person above the age of 4.
  43. OMG he has a gun but does not know how to use it?!?!
  44. He is super lucky that the gun did not kill him or her. What an idiot
  45. Gets fired when he is a no show, no call for his job at the hardware store. How lazy and stupid do you have to be to not even do the simplest thing to keep a low entry point job?
  46. He is more threatened by the idea of someone calling his mom than the cops
  47. He dresses like a “Park Ranger in a porno” to go meet her parents
  48. Is lame when sitting out in front of the hardware store where he got fired, then holds up traffic yelling once again to idiot guy friends. These guys have zero regard for other people.
  49. He yells out to everyone that they had sex at work. Again see #5
  50. He can't let her have one night. Comes over to Fran’s party uninvited
Trust me it was a tie between the racist asshole roommate or this waste of human flesh but there is more screen time with the “boyfriend" and the roommate's "back story" with the wedding has her painted in a more forgiving light.
I do understand that the only reason he gets away with ANY of it is that she lets him. Still...he is just…
Can't wait for Season 3. Looks like she has grown up a bit and will be growing a more mature and proper backbone?
